Kahil’s Story of Prostate Cancer: In the summer of 2017, after a few short months of living on the property, along with the rehabbing and cleaning up of the garbage, Kahil was diagnosed with Stage 1 Prostate Cancer. The following years lead to many different hills and valleys for Kahil and Sherry. The story has a happy ending. Kahil has gone through surgery and after 2 years, is cancer free. His story will be available on a video on this site, coming soon. Kahil researched the cancer thoroughly and has a lot of information and answers to the many questions someone diagnosed with prostate cancer may have. He wishes to share this information with others.
The 2nd Chronicle
Kahil’s Rotator Cuff Surgery: Kahil’s shoulder was injured in the summer of 2021 after an unexpected fall. After a couple of months of the shoulder not improving, he decided to seen an orthopedic surgeon who confirmed Kahil and Sherry’s fear, that shoulder surgery was needed. The surgery was a success but the 6+ weeks in a sling and therapy to follow made for a trying time. Hopefully he’ll have complete use of his arm back in time. One doesn’t realize until you work on a farm, or something like that, one serious injury can change the whole dynamics of everything. A good thing learned of this experience was the unknown “Brotherhood of Shoulder surgeries”. No matter what place, grocery store, church, walking down the street, etc. someone will stop and say they’ve had the surgery too, hence “The Brotherhood”. It was nice for folks to share their experiences and support as Kahil was going through the shoulder surgery experience.
